| Tournament Format |
Format of the tournament is a 4 person scramble. Each member of
the team will tee off on each hole. The team will select the shot
that they want to play from those four and then all will play from
the selected location. The players will place their ball within usually
one or two feet of the selected ball, no nearer the hole, and each
will play their shot. This process is repeated until the team lands
on the green. Once on the green, the team will select the best ball
to play and will mark that ball. They will then attempt to putt the
ball into the hole. As each member of the team putts, they will put
a mark on the closest putt to the hole until all four members have
attempted to hole the putt. If none of the four make the putt in
the first attempt, the process will be repeated until the ball is
put into the hole. Once the ball is put into the hole, the hole is
over. What this means that if the first player attempts the first
putt and leaves it 6” short of the hole and that player then
goes up to the ball and puts it in the hole, the hole is then complete
for that team and the other members of the team do not get the attempt
to make the same putt that the first person did, possibly giving
the team a lower score. The usual wording for this is “ once
the ball is holed, the hole is over “. |
